Rezension (deutsch)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Flowers for the Devil“, von Vlad Khany, ist mein erstes Buch von ihr gewesen und sprach mich aufgrund des Klappentextes an.
Vlad Khanys Schreibstil war solide, fl\u00fcssig und stach vor allem durch sein d\u00fcsteres Setting in London 1860 , den dazugeh\u00f6rigen Slums, der hohen Gesellschaft und dem blanken Schmutz, den man riechen, schmecken und f\u00fchlen konnte, hervor. Die Welt an sich war sehr realit\u00e4snah, mit vielen Details zu Kulturen und Traditionen, Problemen an sich, geschm\u00fcckt und f\u00fcgte sich gut in das Buch hinein.
Die Charaktere waren faszinierend. Konnten mich vor allem immer wieder und wieder mit ihren Hintergrundgeschichten, ihrer gesamten Vergangenheit, die ein bunter Mix aus Kultur, Krieg und Moral war, f\u00fcr sich gewinnen. Leider waren mir ihre Handlungen zu Ende hin etwas unschl\u00fcssig, \u00fcberspitzt und nicht mehr so gut durchdacht wie am Anfang. Der Spannungsbogen war gut, mit genug Geheimnissen und Fragen versehen, dass man stetig tiefer in das Buch stieg, flaute aber zum Ende hin schon etwas zu fr\u00fch ab. Die Geschichte an sich war sehr stark an die Vergangenheiten und jeweiligen Emotionen der Charaktere gekn\u00fcpft und lie\u00df mich dadurch gerne mit r\u00e4tseln und dar\u00fcber nachdenken. Womit ich leider etwas unzufrieden bin ist die generelle Aufl\u00f6sung vom Buch. Sie war originell, aber nach der ganzen Komplexit\u00e4t die vorher an den Tag gelegt wurde, zu einfach und schnell abgel\u00f6st.
Das einzige, wovon ich kein Fan war, war, ich beschreibe es mal vorsichtig als „seltsame Erotik“. Erotik der unangenehmen Momente und Wortwahl? Sie war echt nicht mein Fall und wirkte sich dadurch, leider, negativ bei mir aufs lesen aus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fazit. F\u00fcr mich stach das Buch vor allem durch seine Charaktere heraus. Sie waren sehr tiefgr\u00fcndig, gef\u00fcllt mit unz\u00e4hligen Gedanken und so unterschiedlich, wie man nur sein konnte. Daf\u00fcr empfehle ich es echt gerne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Flower for the Devil“, from Vlad Khany, is my first book from the author and sounded interesting because of its premises.
Vlad Khany\u00b4s writingstyle was fluid, smooth and in a way so depply, darkly atmospheric, that you could smell, taste and feel the slums, London 1860, the high and arrogant society. The world itself was full of details, unexpected culture and traditions, which wove itself wonderfully in the book.
Alle the characteres were fascinating. Had so many layers to uncover and hooked me again und again with their stories, their believes, wars, the bloodshed and tradegys. Unfortunatley, to the end of the book, I did\u00b4nt like all of their actions or understood them. The charging was good, kept me on my toes through secrets and the overall darkness of the story. But to the end, it fell a bit flat und resolved itself to fast. The story itself was intruging, connected with the characters on so many levels and I had my fun figuring everything out. What I didn\u00b4t really like was the ending. It was original, a diffrent approach, but with such complex characters and emotions, it was to straight, to easy resolved.
The thing I wasn\u00b4t a fan off, was the, I\u00b4m going to formualte it carefully, was the „weird spice“. Or was it spice in uncomfortable moments and word, which weren\u00b4t my cup of tea? Definitely. I\u00b4m sorry. I was just not a fan of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, too sum everything up. The characters werde great, fully fleshed out. For this, I could recommend the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
