Rezension (deutsch)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

„The Teras Trials“, von Lucien Burr, ist das erste Buch aus xiers Feder und sprach mich aufgrund der d\u00fcsteren Akademie – Thematik an.
Ein Fiebertraum. Das Buch f\u00fchlt sich an wie ein geladener, unm\u00f6glicher Fiebertraum und doch machte er einen, durch die Horrorelemente, die Fragen zu Religion und Menschlichkeit, die beschriebenen Monster und Twists, absolut s\u00fcchtig. Geschrieben war es in einem harschen, zwiegespalten Ton, der zu den Charakteren und deren grausamen H\u00fcrden passte. Das Dark Academia Setting war genau das, was man darunter auch versteht: voller Geheimnisse, Zwiste und Monstern, in vielerlei Hinsicht. Verwoben mit ganz viel griechischer Mythologie, alten G\u00f6ttern der Antike und einer Menge Latein. Cassius, unserer Hauptprotagonist, war ein kompliziertes Wesen. Voller Widerspr\u00fcche, schaben entlang der Menschlichkeit und an vielen Stellen sympathisch, verst\u00e4ndlich, aber auch unsympathisch. Die Nebencharaktere waren gut, greifbar in ihrer Weise, und doch blieben sie in Mysterien gehaucht. Vermutlich so gedacht. Spannung baute sich schnell, vor allem durch die Actionszenen und diese Welt, auf und hatte so einige Dinge parat.
Was mir manchmal nicht so ganz durchsichtig war, wie manche P\u00e4kte zwischen den Protas entstanden und wie sie dazu kamen, sie zu schlie\u00dfen. Mir fehlte es da an Durchsichtigkeit, ein paar wenigen, kleinen Informationen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fazit. Brutal, d\u00fcster und krass auf Horror anlegt. F\u00fcr Fans von Resident Evil, gepaart mit queren und relig\u00f6sen Themen. Absolute Empfehlung!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„The Teras Trials“, from Lucien Burr, ist the first book in the series und spoke to me because of its setting.
A feverdream. The book is a whole feverdream, filled with horror, religous questions, flithy monsters, in boths kinds and the insanity of humankind and, it made me absolutley addicted because of it. It was great, well done and I can\u00b4t express, how many times it blew me away with the little twists. The Dark Acacemia – Setting was just how someone imangines: full of secrets, hidden passages and trials and underlinded with greek mytholgy, cruel gods and lots of latin (and hey, I understood somethings, without reading the aftercontext. Yay. My studying in latin payed up!) The writing style is harsh, twisted in so many ways and perfect, for the characters and world. Cassius, the protagonist, was complex. In some ways sympaethic, understandable and in other instances, unsympaethic, harsh. But that made his struggles, the complexity of this world, which they are facing, believable. The sidecharacters were good, fleshed out, and still shrouded in mysteries. For reasons, In think, which have to do with the other books. The charging was great, filled with action and twists, which made me read this book in like two days.
What I didn\u00b4t really understand sometimes, were the pacts, which were formed between some characteres. They felt a bit forced, not clear enough in the undertones and could have used more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, to sum everything up. Brutal, dark and a feast in reglion, morality and monsters. For Fans from the Horror – Genre, Resident Evil and queer Themes, an absolut must read this fall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
