Rezension (german)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Immortal Throne“, von J. C. Mckenzie und Harper J. Brooks, ist das Buch von zwei charmanten Selfpublishern.
Solane und Ryker. Ryker und Solane. Das P\u00e4\u00e4rchen war gut gew\u00e4hlt. Voller hitziger Auseinandersetzungen, hei\u00dfen Momenten und unreinen Gef\u00fchlen, welche durch die Geschichte wuchsen und wuchsen. Das Setting war ein Mix aus der modernden Welt und einer Fantasyh\u00f6lle, mit Energie, die man als Magie benutzt. Ja, das beschreibt es ganz gut. Der Schreibstil war fl\u00fcssig und sog einen durch die Story.
Solane an sich war sympathisch, stark und hat eine Menge durchgemacht, vor und w\u00e4hrend des Buchs. Und genau deswegen hatte sie ein R\u00fcckgrat aus Stahl und einen Schlag, der es nochmal untermauerte. Ich fand sie manchmal nur zu vertrauensw\u00fcrdig, vor allem gegen neuen, fremden Charakteren und zu schnell in ihrer Entwicklung. Ryker war toll, trotzdem fehlte mir zu ihm ein wenig der Hintergrund- und Motivationsbezug. Generell zu allen Charakteren, die vorgestellt wurden. Sie h\u00e4tten wirklich tiefer und mehr ausgebaut werden k\u00f6nnen. Der Kampf um den Thorn war die ersten 150 Seiten spannend, neu, flachte aber dann ab und wurde etwas unwichtiger. Das gleiche passierte auch mit der Geschichte. Zuerst war deren Kurve nicht erkennbar und dann fiel der Groschen und ich wusste was und wie passieren w\u00fcrde. Schade, den sie hatte Potenzial zu viel mehr. Was ich aber cool fand, war, dass die Autorinnen sich T\u00fcren offen gehalten haben, f\u00fcr einen zweiten Band. Das Ende ist abgeschlossen, aber M\u00f6glichkeit gibt es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fazit. Vom Grundger\u00fcst und der Idee her, cool. In der Umsetzung mangelte es. Ich empfehle es aber, vor allem f\u00fcr jene, die einen schnellen, hei\u00dfen Read wollen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Immortal Throne“, from J. C. Mckenzie and Harper J. Brooks, is the book from two charming indieauthors.
Solane and Ryker. Ryker and Solane. This pairing was good. Full of spitting fights, scorching moments and untarnished feelings, which grew and grew through the story. The setting was a mix of the modern world and a fantasy unterground hell. Yeah, it think that describes it very good. And the aspect of the energy and demonic live, was also good integrated. The writing was fluid, compelling and easliy to get lost into it.
Solane herself was sympathetic, headstrong and went through a lot in the book and way before it. Because of that, she had a backbone of steel and a punch to pack it with. But she was also sometimes to trusting and her growth, in some aspects, was to hasty and fast. Even though I liked Ryker, I was missing a little bit of his histrory and not just his. Every character, which we meet through the story, stayed a littlte flat and could have been way more deeper. Or detailed. The fight for the throne was interesting in the first 150 pages. Thrilling, new, because of the world, but lost its shine a and became less important. The same goes also for the story. Though, it held its doors open for a second book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, to sum everything up, the characters and the idea was good, solid. But the overall prsention could have been better. Still, I would recomend it, because of the fast and easy read. So if you like something like this, read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
